Badr lies about 150 km south-west of Madinah, near the old road between Makkah and Madinah. It is the site of the Battle of Badr in Ramadan, 2 AH, the first great battle of Islam, and the resting place of the fourteen companions who were martyred there (may Allah be pleased with them).

Pilgrims who travel between Makkah and Madinah by road can ask our office about a stop at Badr, where they can visit the battlefield area and the Masjid al-Areesh.
